About the job:
We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative to help us grow the business. This is an entry. level sales role with significant growth opportunity. As a member of an inside, telephone.based sales team, you will be responsible for (a) fielding incoming sales leads being generated from our marketing team and website (b) making a direct phone.based sales call to the most qualified incoming leads (c) qualifying those leads as viable opportunities and building a robust sales pipeline (d) closing the sale. There might be additional cold.calling to targeted lists on top of following up on “warm leads” generated via marketing.
Responsibilities include:
  • Outbound calling, emailing, and participating with programs and assignments upon request
  • Attempting 70.80 calls per day and holding 20.30 sales calls per day.
  • Conducting online presentations via web.based software with interested customers.
  • Maintaining sales database (inputting conversation detail, tracking follow.up actions, and updating account/contact details, task lists, and calling activities) utilizing SalesForce.com
  • Presenting activity reports
  • Participating in weekly meetings to review objectives, opportunities, and forecast items
Qualifications:

Python Developer

We are seeking a Python Developer to join our team implementing our next-generation Open Textbook repository system as a core component of our existing open textbook platforms, developed in Python and XML. You are experienced:-

  • Building and scaling back-end production systems
  • Providing transaction systems & reporting for a high-volume production system
  • Independent and creative thinker & coder, but also team-oriented

The role will report to and collaborate with CTO to deliver the next iteration of our digital-based platform for open textbooks, replacing existing system that manages custom book content for consumer/student delivery, including delivery of content for sale in multiple formats, including eReaders (i.e. iPad, Kindle, etc.). You will have the opportunity to take ownership of cutting-edge technology systems at an early-stage company.

Requirements:

  • Experience building and maintaining back-end systems, on a Linux platform in a mixed open-source environment
  • Experience in Python and MySQL
  • (optional) Experience with XML repositories, DocBook XML and XSL
  • Comfortable with a start-up environment, agile practices (XP & Scrum), web-savvy business teams, and many tasks / responsibilities
