Yes. It’s this easy: search our catalog, request a print review copy or review our book online, complete an online adoption form, give a URL to your students, and download our supplements. Done. It really is that easy. Or, you can ask us to help design and distribute custom contacts for your institution. We’ll do that with as much perfection as we create our own materials.

Finding and reviewing the right book for your course is easier than what you do now. Go to our online catalog. Browse or search by course or topic. Read the description and contents. If the book seems like a good fit at first blush, you can just keep on reading! Our books are open, so it’s all there for your review. Immediately. No registration. No advertising noise. No filling out a request form. No trying to get hold of your rep. Of course, if you do want a print copy to review, we’re happy to send it to you – just click “Request a Review Copy" and it’s on its way.

You may want to adopt one of our premier-authored books “as is”, or customize it to your student’s needs (we’ve made this incredibly easy to do - more below under "Make It Your Own”). Simply click “Adopt” from the catalog or from any page of the book itself. Fill out the brief adoption form online - it’s just like the one you fill out for your bookstore. You’re done. Click “Submit”. From there, we immediately generate a unique website where the book you want (with or without your changes) can be easily found by students. Your students go to the book website and start reading. No passwords. No logins. No intrusive advertising. Nothing to it. We’ll email you that website address, too, just so you have it for reference (you can also retrieve it from your My Flatworld page). If you want the bookstore to order print copies for students, you can click “Print Adoption Form” and give it to the department assistant or bookstore.

If one or more of our textbooks isn’t exactly what you need, we make it possible for you to easily customize a textbook before you adopt it, or anytime afterward. Think of a Flat World Knowledge textbook as your book – you’re in control; you can modify what you want, when you want. There’s a “Customize This Book” link on the catalog page and on every book page. Clicking this link will load the book into our “Build-a-Book” platform (you’ll need to register to do this, because we need to save your work where you can retrieve it later). From there you simply click and drag chapters and sections to change the order of chapters or sections that’s right for you - or delete them altogether. We are working on other neat features like being able to add large chunks of your own information, such as a favorite case study or an exercise set (we even have a database of material that you can use for this purpose). We are even looking closely at being able to edit actual text content. Once you’re satisfied with the changes you’ve made, click “Save” and we’ll give your book a unique URL, and put it in your “My Flatworld” page.

You’ve found, adopted, and (maybe) adapted one of our textbooks. This provides immediate access to your “My Flatworld” page, where you can view and download the Instructor’s Manual, Lecture PowerPoint Slides, Test Item Files, and have a print desk copy mailed to you. We’ll also immediately provide the unique ISBN number (every book has one) to you, so that your bookstore can order up the exact copy of the book you adopted (with, or without changes). If necessary, you will also be able to communicate with the textbook author and a service representative at Flat World Knowledge.
